As a member of the full-time non-tenure track faculty, I taught writing and communications courses in the School for New Learning and performed administrative duties to support the college’s writing program. In addition to my teaching load, my duties included course management; coordinating and facilitating writing boot camps, assessing writing proficiency exams, and prior learning assessment.

I also supported the Writing Program Administrator by planning, organizing, and hosting bi-annual faculty development meetings and planning, developing and coordinating annual student writing events (Writing Showcase Live and Month of Writing), writing blogs, creating a writing guide resource for faculty and students, observing and training new writing faculty, supporting the integration of e- Portfolios into core courses and assessing writing e-Portfolios, serving as unit liaison with the University Writing Center to advocate for dedicated support for nontraditional adult learners, staying current on writing across the discipline research and theories to support students and faculty, conference presentations and publication.
Additionally, I performed college and university-wide service. I served as a professional advisor for undergraduate and graduate students. I also served on multiple committees including traveling to Nairobi, Kenya to work with students and faculty as part of the Tangaza University College program, and serving on the Curriculum Committee, African Diaspora Committee, and University Academic Integrity Committee.
